Get Involved

There are several ways you can become involved with Student Congress and engage with the legislative process of Student Government at UNC.

  • Attend Student Congress meetings. All meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to address members during the public comment period.
  • Apply for a position on the Congressional staff. We currently have a clerking position available which pays by the hour. You can contact us for more information or to apply.
  • Apply to be an external appointment. Congress appoints students to various boards and committees that oversee a range of issues on behalf of the student body.
  • Run for Congress. Seats are elected in February of each year. Special elections occur when vacancies arise. Reach out to any member of Congress to learn more about student government elections and the campaign process.
  • Apply to be a legislative assistant. This is a great way to get involved behind the scenes by helping the leadership staff draft legislation and help the select committees with research of issues and outreach.
